1. How dangerous is Turkey?
Turkey is one of the most civil and pleasant countries we have ever been in. The country is completely safe for travellers who take a minimum of prudent precautions. Everyone who has travelled with us takes home a genuine respect and affection for the Turkish people. Geopolitically,Turkey is over one thousand kilometers from both the horrors of Iraq and the seemingly endless problems in the middle east. We are confident that people can travel throughout this country and feel completely safe and secure.
2. What about the money?
The new Turkish Lire is now in circulation. In terms of denominations the new currency is remarkably close to Canada’s. As one Turkish Lire is worth about 98 cents Canadian, the value is also almost equivalent.
3. How do you fly to Turkey?
The major airport of entry to Turkey is Istanbul’s Ataturk airport. There are no direct flights from Canada to Istanbul, but you can connect through almost every major European airport. There are daily direct flights from New York’s Kennedy Airport to Istanbul. The cost for return flights should be in the range of $1100,00--$1200.00 Cdn
