TURKEY WITH ALDPAR
Who are we?

RonALD Waldie and DonALD Pelletier are your hosts on these tours. We formed Aldpar to make group travel a more thoughtful and personalized experience. Our goal is to ensure that travellers will return to Canada not only knowing that they have had a wonderful time, but also having gained real insights into the country they have visited. In order to achieve these goals, we have established a major touring priority: Plenty of down time! For example, we try to keep travel days as short as possible, so that, when we reach our destination, people have time to explore the town or village on their own, or to relax and enjoy the amenities of the hotel. An equally important priority is that all our groups are very small. The maximum size is 18 people and many of the tours are limited to ten or fewer people. The small size permits easy, un-hassled hotel check-ins, plenty of room on our spacious air-conditioned busses, and offers us the flexibility to accommodate individual interests leading to short side trips or photo stops etc.

We want to make sure that each day unfolds as it should, that everyone is enjoying him or herself, that nobody feels left out, and that nobody has to be alone for lunch or dinner. We both love this work and we feel that the single greatest benefit of this endeavour is that we get to meet so many interesting people and to make so many good friends.

Ron Waldie B.A., M.A. is a former Dean of Academic Studies at George Brown College in Toronto and brings his vast knowledge of history, classics and mythology to help people understand what they are seeing. Ron loves travelling and especially enjoys introducing people to places and sites, which are special.

Ron is also in charge of the “book bag”, our travelling library for the readers in our group.

Don Pelletier B.A. A.O.C.A. is an architectural designer who has designed and renovated houses all over Canada, the U.S.A. as well as in Antigua. He brings his knowledge of classical building styles and techniques to enhance peoples' understanding of the magnificent buildings we see in both Turkey and Guatemala. Don is also a very good cook and those people who travel with us appreciate his knowledge of the local foods.
