TURKEY WITH ALDPAR
Frequently Asked Questions

1. Who travels with us?
Our tours attract people who are looking for a more complete experience of a country rather than basic sightseeing. Ranging in age from 45--75, many of them have already travelled extensively all over the world. They choose our tours because of their length and depth. They also are attracted by the range of experiences we offer. Most importantly, they appreciate the fact that there is so much free time built into the trip.
For no particular reason, our tours tend to be pretty well gender balanced. Single women and men are welcome and we work very hard to ensure that they are full participants in all the activities. The wonderful part about this business is that so many of our travellers become both good friends and enthusiastic references. Here's a sampling of their comments:
"Ah your beloved Turkey! Thank you so much for creating this magic carpet trip and steering it with such panache and a light touch. I'm still overwhelmed with what I saw. The sun, and the colours and sounds keep coming back to me at odd times, and I think 'Oh yes, that was in Antalya..in Kas..on the road to Bursa...' And I greatly enjoyed sitting at the back of the bus, gossiping with Don and reading books..." Anne Hart - St. John's Newfoundland
"The tour was well planned. The picnic when we had to translate the food each team had to buy, and then buying it in the market, was lots of fun and memorable. We had many other pleasant experiences and we have wonderful memories. Thank you." Philip and Donna Walker
"Of all the vacations I have ever taken, this was the one that best combined pleasure and knowledge. I had a wonderful time and learned more about Turkey than I thought possible. An unforgettable journey." Jackie Park - New York

2. How dangerous is Turkey?
Turkey is one of the most civil and pleasant countries we have ever been in. The country is completely safe for travellers who take a minimum of prudent precautions. Everyone who has travelled with us takes home a genuine respect and affection for the Turkish people. Geopolitically,Turkey is over one thousand kilometers from both the horrors of Iraq and the seemingly endless problems in the middle east. We are confident that people can travel throughout this country and feel completely safe and secure.
3. What about the money?
The new Turkish Lire is now in circulation. In terms of denominations the new currency is remarkably close to Canada’s. As one Turkish Lire is worth about 98 cents Canadian, the value is also almost equivalent.
4. How do you fly to Turkey?
The major airport of entry to Turkey is Istanbul’s Ataturk airport. There are no direct flights from Canada to Istanbul, but you can connect through almost every major European airport. There are daily direct flights from New York’s Kennedy Airport to Istanbul. The cost for return flights should be in the range of $1100,00--$1200.00 Cdn
